Calf Roping Benefits Beef Counts

Calf Roping Benefits Beef Counts

Helping the hungry while watching some amazing calf roping is a what I call a win-win. Well at the second annual Caring Cowboys Beef Counts Open Calf Roping, you can do just that. Idaho Beef Counts Coordinator Laurie Likely shares more about this special event.

Likely: “It started in 2011 and was the brain child of some professional rodeo cowboys and professional barrel racers. They wanted a non-profit organization dedicated to the preserving western lifestyle by connecting charitable activities and they selected Beef Counts which is Idaho beef industry’s United Against Hunger as the beneficiary. It is an amazing opportunity to bring together some of the top PRCA tie-down ropers showcasing their skills in a three go around -- top 12 short go on Sunday, August 18th at the Gooding fairgrounds.”

In addition to some exciting calf roping there is also a live and silent cash-only auction with some amazing items.

Nearly 1 out of four children in Idaho are considered to be food insecure or worried about where their next meal may come from. Here is an opportunity to watch top notch rodeo while raising money to providing those in need with nutritious and tasty beef through the Beef Counts program.

Admission is cash donation or two canned food items. Likely says.

Likely: “We just want to invite your entire listening audience to the 2013 second annual Caring Cowboys Beef Counts Open Calf Roping in Gooding, Idaho, on August 18th to support Beef Counts.”
