34th Young Cattlemen’s Conference challenges participants.

Sixty-one young cattlemen and women recently participated in the 34th Young Cattlemen’s Conference held by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. NCBA’s Young Cattlemen’s Tour Chair Clint Berry says the tour is an amazing experience unlike any other:  “10 days with a group of fellow cattlemen that are leaders in the industry and you have a chance to be pulled out of your comfort zone and challenge to think bigger than what is inside your own fences.”

The tour started at NCBA’s headquarters in Denver - where participants learned more about NCBA and the Beef Checkoff program and also heard from representatives of Cattle Fax and the U.S. Meat Export Federation. Then they stopped in Greeley, Colorado and toured JBS Five Rivers feed yards and processing facilities. After that - the group traveled to Chicago and stopped at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as well as Otto and Sons Industries - a family-owned company that provides products to companies in the food industry - like McDonald’s.
