3-8 IAT Beef Competition
A huge beef competition with a lot at stake, no pun intended. I chatted with Traci Bracco, Executive Director of the Idaho Beef Council recently: “The 30th national beef cookoff is calling on home cooks around the country start grilling, broiling, practicing their stirfry and roasting for 2013 recipe competition. It has already started and goes through April 15 and home cooks can submit their best beef recipe online at www.beef cookoff.org for their chance to win $25,000 and a trip the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining show in Washington DC. This year’s team is making the most of my plate which is the my pyramid food guidelines. It is encouraging recipes that are healthy and delicious using all the different food groups. Entrance are asked to develop original and tasty recipes with beef that focus on ingredients like fruits and vegetables, grain products and dairy products. There is a number of recipe categories and the nice thing is that contestants can enter the recipes in more than one category or they can enter multiple recipes.
