The U.S. Senate failed to pass a replacement bill for the sequester last week. House Ag Chairman Frank Lucas says it is disappointing the Senate not only failed on this front - but that it has failed to pass a budget in nearly four-years. However - Lucas is pleased they rejected the Reid-Stabenow plan - which he says unfairly targeted agriculture. He says America’s farmers and ranchers deserve better than to be used as a pawn in a political game.

The search for the fourth America’s Farmers Mom of the Year is on. Monsanto U.S. Row Crops Lead Lisa Safarian says the number of female farm operators has grown exponentially over the past decade - and farm moms play a significant role not only on their farms and in their communities - but also to the American food supply and economy. Safarian says this contest is one small tribute to the amazing women who balance the responsibilities of family, home and farm while volunteering in their community and also promoting agriculture.

The Renewable Fuels Association - through a partnership with the Iowa Corn Growers Association is unveiling an updated Flex-Fuel Station Locator app for iPhones, iPads, the iPod Touch and all Android devices. This free app helps users find any station in the U.S. that offers E-85.
