2-18 SS Grand Slam

 A fishing grand slam.

Correspondent Josh Mills tells about a very exciting day in the Big Hole River system in Montana. “ The Grayling is kind of like the white unicorn of fishing in the lower 48. They exist in one river system in Montana that are self sustaining. They have been introduced to some lakes and ponds here and there but the Big Hole  system in Montana has river Grayling. I was in Montana a couple of years ago and I had the pleasure of fishing a private stretch of water. You have heard of the grand slams of different river systems before and depending on what you have it can be just a fun thing to do. It is nothing to get a patch or an award or a trophy or anything like that but catching a Grayling in the Big Hole is rare especially  in the area I was because it was 30 miles from where they should be. I got an opportunity to catch a bunch of big Brown’s and that was great and then a couple of rainbows which was awesome and then I caught a white fish and thought that was really cool. Right before we were about to leave I made a couple more casts I looked into a Grayling. I thought you have to be kidding and I thought oh my gosh but there was no one around to see it but luckily I took a picture. It was 8 inches with that tell-tale sail fin. I was stunned that I can’t the Big Hole grand slam.
