Friday was an impressive day on the markets with good gains pretty much across the board even though it was quieter than on Thursday. Traders were looking forward to the long holiday weekend. Chris Robinson with Top Third Ag.

ROBINSON: You gotta remember just a week ago from today we had the USDA report on the 11th. We made a lot of lows on that day. We’ve bounced back since then so that’s continuing the story. Old crop tightness for corn. You did have this week the closing of two ethanol plants in Nebraska as well as a processing plant for cattle, Cargill shut one of those down in Plainview, Texas so that’s all coming out of this tightness of old crop corn.

Now a look at some of the markets...

Chicago March Wheat up 9 1/2 at 790 3/4

March Corn up 2 1/2 at 727

Portland White and Club wheat unchanged to up 10 at mostly 8.6950

Hard Red Winter Wheat - 11.5% protein up 6.75 at mostly 9.4175

Dark Northern Spring Wheat - 14% protein up 4.75 at mostly 9.65

Feb Live Cattle down 1.65 at 124.95

March Feeder Cattle up 50 cents at 146.35

February Class III Milk off 22cents at 17.28
