Growing Up On The Farm

Welcome to Open Range, I’m KayDee Gilkey. Stay tuned because after the break I’ll check in with our field reporter, Greg Martin for the AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks KayDee. Each week we present this special program presented by AgriBeef but the gal behind the topics and guests is Shana Bailey who feeds me the ideas. Shana is a wife, mom, photographer and has been a part of the ranching business all her life.

BAILEY: You know we were always right in the middle of everything that was going on and that’s the thing about these ranches is that they’re run by families. It’s not one person ranching. It never is.

She says that there were always lessons to be learned.

BAILEY: The cool thing about is that it teaches responsibility to everybody and pretty much that’s what we’re all trying to do. We’re trying to teach responsibility to our children and it’s the same thing that Justin and I are trying to with our children so it’s definitely a blessing to be on the ranch.

Shana and her family now live on same farm that both she and her dad grew up on. She talks about her involvement with AgriBeef.

BAILEY: AgriBeef has been a company I was so lucky to get connected with. I started working with them in 2003 and I worked for them for 9 years. And now I’ve been lucky enough to be able to stay on with them and do ag news radio. Every single day the ag industry is out there supporting it’s land and the people and the animals of course so it’s a really easy job and it’s really fun to stay connected with AgriBeef.

I’m Greg Martin and that’s today’s AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks Greg. Don’t forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I’m KayDee Gilkey.
