2012 Harvest Concerns? Call the Mycotoxin Hotline

As livestock producers begin to examine this year’s harvest and prepare to feed the less than up-to-par crop to their animals, many questions are starting to come up in the field. Is this mold? Should I be worried about aflatoxinsor other toxins? I have done a number of stories about this subject. So As you are thinking of feeding your herd, you might ask what steps should I take to protect my herd? When it comes to questions like these and others, the answer to “Who you gonna call?” should be the Alltech Mycotoxin Hotline. The toll free hotline is once again open this season and ready to discuss any concerns about this year’s harvest. Besides answering questions from the field, the hotline also provides a centralized point of access to references and industry experts on the topic. The capability to do this is a direct result of grant money and collaboration with scientific institutions as Alltech spokesperson Susanna Elliot  points out:  “Alltech is very proud to have formed a $2.5 million research alliance with several leading universities and academic research institutes.”

Alltech’s program can investigate over 38 different mycotoxins quantitatively in less than 15 minutes.  For more information about the 37+ Program or any concerns relating to mycotoxins, please call the Mycotoxin Hotline at 866-322-3484.
