10-17 SS Drift Boat

10-17 SS Drift Boat

Correspondent Josh Mills makes us an offer we simply can’t refuse. “If you are interested in rolling down the river in style in a custom, beautiful, 17 foot wooden drift boat built by hand and helping the Wild Steelhead Coalition in their effort for habitat restoration, there is a big opportunity for you right now. Master craftsman Ross Duncan put together an absolutely gorgeous handbuilt 17 foot wooden McKenzie style drift boat in partnership with Orvis. There is an auction to raise funds for the Wild Steelhead Coalition. The funds for this will be going into habitat restoration on the Skagit River over on the west side of the state. It is one of the birthplaces of the modern style of Skagit style casting, it was once one of the most famous runs of winter steelhead as well as summer steelhead. Since it has fallen on extremely hard times, they will use the funds that  they are raising to restore some of the sloughs. I highly encourage you to go to the WildSteelheadCoalition.org and click through to the link for the option that is currently going on. This is a one-of-a-kind boat and you won’t find a better more stylish way to roll down the river as you chase steelhead. Again that is WildSteelheadCoalition.org.
