Western Stockmen’s Opens a New Store

Most rural communities have a local animal health and feed supply store. Today we are visiting with one the region’s companies that is opening its seventh retail store in the Pacific Northwest. After the break we will visit about that new Western Stockmen Store opening in Washington, I’m KayDee Gilkey with Open Range.

Western Stockmen’s stores carry a complete line of products and supplies for your operation. At Western Stockmen’s, you can purchase animal health supplies, fencing, hardware, mineral and supplements, feed for a variety of animals, and commodities. Their new store is located in Sunnyside.

Robert Lambert, Manager of both the Umatilla and Sunnyside stores shares what makes
Western Stockmen’s stores different than other feed supply stores.

Lambert: “We have a very high quality of feed. We have a high standard that we go by and you aren’t just going to go buy a bag like you would at retail stores in town. You are getting quality when you buy from us. We manufacture our own feed in our mill in Caldwell, Idaho.”

So how is that different than other retail stores?

Lambert: “About 99 percent of all retail stores in the Pacific Northwest purchase their feed from a manufacturer and resale it. We are one of the elite that we manufacture it ourselves and sell it ourselves. So it is not getting marked up in that way.”

With a full selection of feeds, from daily rations to individually-tailored feed supplements, Western Stockmen’s offers it all through their Pride Feeds line of livestock feeds.
