9-5 SS Writer Amy

 Amy Spoon is an area habitat biologist for Washington Fish and Game but she is also an avid outdoor person herself. I was introduced to her by one of our semi regular contributors, Rex Peterson who is the editor-in-chief and owner of Horns & Hooks magazine. Rex invites  outdoorsmen to write about their hunting and fishing experiences in his publication.  Amy was one such person, so I called Amy up and chatted with her. “Tell me about your background.  Are you a hunting and fishing columnist from a woman’s perspective? Right. I got hooked up with Rex and his magazine. I subscribe to a bunch of hunting and fishing magazines and they have stories for women but there’s nothing really geared toward women specific stuff. There’s a whole bunch of women’s gear coming out right now, it’s a big thing and I, through trial and error, have come across some stuff that works well for me so I threw it out there in hopes that it would kind of catch on so I am doing some year reviews on women specific stuff and giving my $.02 on why I like to do the stuff that I do and hopefully get other women encouraged to get out there and try it to or another way to get guys who maybe want their women to join them. Maybe some tips on how to make that easier and a better experience.
