 It’s Idaho Organic Week!

Organic producers across Idaho serve customers locally and abroad, by producing a wide variety of quality organic products. To honor them, Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter has declared the week of June 24-30, Idaho Organic Week. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) has partnered with the Boise Co-op to host an Organic Products Showcase June 25, 11:00am-2:00pm, to kick off the week. A short press conference will be held at 11:00am. Customers will then get the opportunity to meet local organic producers and sample their products.

“Organic production is an important segment of Idaho agriculture that generates over 70 million dollars in sales and I am glad we can recognize the significance of organic agriculture in Idaho,” states Idaho State Department of Agriculture Director, Celia Gould. The week-long celebration recognizes the importance of organic producers, processors, and distributors in Idaho.Here is ISDA marketing expert Lacey Menasco: “we see that organic production is a very important niche in Idaho and we want to bring more consumer awareness to the fact that we have Idaho grown organic products.”
