Idaho’s farmers markets are overflowing with delicious and high-quality fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, wines and specialty foods. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) is working with the Idaho Potato Commission, Idaho Wine Commission, Idaho Beef Council, Idaho Dairy Council, Idaho Bean Commission and the Capital City Public Market to feature these delicious products in the first-ever Idaho Farmers Market Recipe Contest.The Entry Deadline is July 1, 2012.
Shoppers who love the market, and understand how their recipes just taste better with quality flavorful ingredients, can enter their favorite “farmers market” recipe in the contest for a chance to win a $100 prize! All recipes must include three products found at an Idaho farmers market. Contest categories include: Best Use of Idaho Potatoes® Here’s Don Odiorne, V.P. of Food Service at the Idaho Potato Commission: “We are really excited to be working with the Idaho State Department of Agriculture that has put together an Idaho farmers market recipe contest and it is going out to the consumers, those shoppers that attend the farmers market and what I love about this there are contest prizes for the best use of Idaho potatoes and several other commodities.”
