5-8 IAN Graves Death Tax

5-8 IAN Graves Death Tax

I heard the greatest representation of the estate tax also known as the death tax the other day.  The NCBA has been particularly active in trying to rebut this ridiculous tax and  Republican Congressman Sam Graves who is a farmer from Northwest Missouri, says  a permanent relief from the estate tax is a priority in 2012. Rep. Graves says death shouldn’t be a taxable event and says the mere concept of the tax is wrong. “We obviously are having meetings in the small business community and agriculture is all about small business. It doesn’t matter if it’s at the retail end or the production end and tax reform policy is very important to those businesses. The inheritance tax or the death tax is right at the center of that. My thought is that death should not be a taxable event. We as farmers and families work very hard to build and maintain that farm in order to pass it along to our children. Now to say that the federal government is owed something because somebody has passed on and you have to sell half the farm or half the business in order to pay the taxes is just wrong so we are going to be pushing very hard to make that permanent.”

Speaking of permanent, let us permanently remove the morons in government who bring such taxes about.
