3-13 SS Mike Eastman

3-13 SS Mike Eastman

For those of you outdoorsmen who have come to know the nationally acclaimed hunting magazines, Eastmans’ Hunting Journal and  Eastmans' Bowhunting Journal, I think it might be fun for you to get to know a little bit about their founder. Mike Eastman’s a fifth-generation westerner who grew up in the wilderness of Wyoming. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Gordon Eastman, who’s a legendary wildlife photographer, guide and hunter By the age of 25, Mike had become an accomplished outdoorsman, wilderness guide, and wildlife photographer himself. That set of credentials made it a natural for Mike to found the Eastman’s publishing enterprise. Today, 70 miles from the nearest town in Wyoming, Mike’s home is surrounded by the largest wilderness in the Lower 48 with grizzlies, wolves, moose, mule deer, bighorn sheep and elk at his back door.  “I’ve got the Absarokee wilderness area on one side of me and the Beartooth wilderness area on the other and the designated wilderness is about 300 yards from my house. I live 88 miles from the nearest grocery store over a 10,000 foot pass. As the crow flies 9 miles from Yellowstone Park. I live a long ways from nowhere. What makes you want to live so far from everyone? That is where I grew up. My father was guiding in Alaska in 1957 and I lived in a sleeping bag and attend most of my life.

So the outdoors in his blood and DNA. He’s the real deal and a gentleman to boot. Go to Eastman’s.com.
