3-9 FB Belt Buckle Award

3-9 FB Belt Buckle Award

Cattle Industry Continues to Fund Superior Beef Award. Members of the Idaho Cattle Association (ICA  recently authorized funds to continue for the ICA’s Superior Beef Award belt buckles, which the association grants to deserving members of Idaho’s youth. Winners are chosen during their local county fair, based on the most outstanding beef project in their 4-H or FFA division. Here is ICA spokesperson and Director of Communications Jessie Thompson:  “The ICA presents the buckles as a way to encourage Idaho’s youth to become more involved in the beef industry.  Two buckles are awarded in each of Idaho’s 44 counties.  The ICA is excited to award those with a passion for the cattle industry with these belt buckles.  It is important to encourage the next generation to take part in the cattle industry, and to promote the future of the industry in Idaho. “

Joan Gill, who won the award herself while participating in 4-H, currently serves as the 4-H Program Coordinator for Payette County. She told me that “It has been a pleasure for me to be able to see that worthy kids are able to receive these buckles. This award is a very important leg-up to 4-H and FFA kids across the state and it lets them know the cattle industry is paying attention to their efforts.”
