1-24 SS Wolf Hunting
Just the other morning, I had breakfast with an old friend named John Lundgren. He owns a wolf mix dog and a full-blooded wolf. Both are pets. In Idaho, there is a state sanctioned wolf hunt. Idaho governor Butch Otter has long felt that Idaho can manage its wolf population through fish and game intervention and wolf hunts. I thought that might be a touchy subject for John because he owns wolves as pets. I asked him the question, he paused, and then said he had mixed feelings about it. “We are selling all kinds of licensing, hunting, fishing, wolf tags and all that good stuff. Are there many people buying wolf tags? Oh yes. Wolf tags are for sale and they are flying out the door. They are $11.50 apiece and the hunting season is through March and they also have a trapping season. Along with that, are people buying rifles for wolf hunting? To hunt wolves, you can hunt with any rifle.”
