12-22 SS FBI Miss

12-22 SS FBI Miss

Rifle set, scope dialed in, plenty of practice time on the range, ready, aim, fire. Huh? What happened?

Steve Twoig is an adamant hunter. Very serious about his sport and has a brother who is an FBI agent in Chicago. Being the guy he is, Steve decides that he will share his hunting experience out here in the Northwest with his brother from the Midwest who had not only never hunted the Northwest but never hunted. “My favorite hunting story would have to be one that happened this year. My brother David who is an FBI agent in Chicago who was all excited to come out and hunt with me and my friend Rick. He had never been hunting. As an FBI guy he had access to the firing range in Chicago and for 3 months he talked about how he was looking forward to it and how he had a firearms instructor and all of these sniper squad guys scoping and sighting in the rifle and all of that and then he gets here and teases us about not seeing any deer. About a quarter-mile from camp there is a big 4 x 4 standing in the middle-of-the-road so we looked at David, he looked at us, we said there you go buddy. We get out of the car, he takes careful aim and misses. Rick looks at it through the binoculars and says you missed Tex. Fire again. At that point David got a little buck fever, started to quiver, reloads, aims again, shoots. He misses and the deer jumps away. Rick and I look at each other, high 5, realize that for the next 3 days in camp we I can have to listen to him. An absolute classic.
