12-15 FB 4-H Lady
Imagine being inducted into the Hall of Fame, an honor that only 14 other Americans have in common. The question becomes which Hall of Fame? Possibly the NFL, NBA, rock ‘n roll? Nope. An organization that certainly in the minds of many is far more honorable.
Great little story recently in the Idaho Statesmen and the headline said, “it’s not all cows and cooking”. That was a reference to the 4-H organization. Every year 4-H honors people for a lifetime of achievement as well as making great contributions to this wonderful organization which helps to develop youth. This year a lovely lady from Meridian named Frankie Marler was inducted into the 4-H hall of fame. She was a home economics major at University of Idaho and said that 4-H gave her lots of confidence. According to. Ben Meyer who is the Ag & Natural Resources Program Manager and Idaho State FFA Advisor, Frankie is not the only one who benefits from participating. “I think students who are engaged in 4-H develop a subset of skills that really pay off in life, a lot of the soft skills that employers look for are developed early in life by joining 4-H at about age 8 or 9 and then working their way on through and I think we have some excellent youth who participate.”
