12-5 FB Weed control
While you may be thinking about strategies for approaching next spring’s plantings several companies including Monsanto, Syngenta, Valent, and FMC recently held a Weed Management Seminar in Memphis, Tennessee.
Monsanto’s Roundup Marketing Manager Chris Reat says his and other countries are collaborating to help farmer better control weeds. “We are really excited about our efforts that are based on weed science, academic inputs, industry support where we went out and asked and looked at what are the best products to fit in and fill these gaps in weed control for resistant weeds and hired to control weeds. In doing that we make best recommendation practices for farmers to use and then we look across the portfolio of products to fit in there. We have approached our industry partners and said hey here is what the academics and weed scientists are telling us… your product fits that, would you be interested in joining us in our collaborative effort to get in and provide incentive for farmers for that right behavior where there are overlapping residuals or they are using the proper post products control escapes or other pre-emerge products didn’t get activity for dry weather. We were able to reach out to our industry partners and get them to do that so we are excited that they are on board.”
