Poor weekly export sales for wheat

The export sales report for wheat was disappointing at only 11 million bushels and Gary Kozlowski with United Futures Trading Group at the CME says;;

Kozlowski: “Again, there is not a lot of strong demand out there right now. The inventories are looking pretty good. The USDA inventory report is kind of neutral on it so there is not expected to be a lot of movement in an upward trend in the near future.”

U.S. white wheat sales are running six percent behind last year at this time.

Egypt again purchased wheat from Russia and Ukraine.

On Thursday Chicago December wheat down 23 cents at 6-20. December corn down 10 ½ cents at 6-45 ½. Portland soft white wheat and club wheat up one to three cents at mostly 6-21. Hard red winter 11.5 percent protein down sixteen cents at 7-58. DNS 14% protein down a nickel at mostly 10-13.

Live cattle futures closed mostly lower Thursday with feeders mainly higher. Live contracts got early support from cash sales higher than last week, up to 127, but then ideas the cash market is topping turned prices down.

December live cattle down a dollar at 121-60. January feeders up 32 at 145-67. December Class III milk up 11 cents at 18-36.
