The 2011 Idaho Cattle Association (ICA) Annual Convention and Trade Show will be held November 14-16th at the Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, Idaho. The theme for this special event “Reclaiming our Liberty; Cattlemen United in Preserving America,” sets the stage for pertinent discussions and presentations regarding the impact our cattle industry has on America and how the cattle industry’s strong sense of patriotism can be felt across the nation.  Highlights of the conference include various guest speakers, an expanded trade show and special performance by cowboy humorist, Baxter Black.

Described by the New York Times as “probably the nation’s most successful living poet,” Baxter Black will be the convention’s featured guest. Black is a well-known poet, comedian and author of the most widely syndicated agricultural column in America. Here is Executive Director of the Idaho Cattlemen’s Association Wyatt Prescott telling us about the patriotic theme. “Realistically revolving around what the theme of this year’s convention is going to be “Reclaiming our Liberty; Cattlemen United in Preserving America.”  We chose that name because we really wanted to focus everyone’s attention on the strength of our country and as we move forward we want everybody to bring their voice to the table and help us forge the message that we want to bring back to our state and federal government.

This year’s convention will kick off with a keynote address by retired Army Colonel, Gary Eller; as his address will offer insight into the skills we all can have to become great leaders. hunting and unclaimed livestock funds. The conference guarantees  three days packed with industry information, engaging discussion and entertainment that you will not want to miss.
