10-7 SS Oregon Wolf Hunt

 Hey hunters I have a question for you. How does hunting wolves intertwine with patriotism?

Got an e-mail from a rancher named Ramona Phillips Joseph in Oregon where it is illegal to shoot a wolf that is preying on your cattle unless you catch the wolf in the act of biting your cow.  Here’s part of the e-mail. “My husband and I have lost over ten thousand dollars so far to an animal that is hardly extinct, the Canadian Gray Wolf. We live in an area that cannot accommodate one more predator. Our local wildlife experts stated this during the public meetings long before the Oregon Wolf plan was in place.” Wolves are decimating elk herds, deer populations and are now preying on peoples’ cattle. In Idaho  there is a wolf hunt.  We are attempting to manage the wolf population. Ramona tells us why wolf hunts should be allowed in Oregon.  “For someone to just gloss it over like these are people who are just making a big noise over something that is not a big deal. Well it is a big deal and if it was happening to them… my son is serving in Afghanistan right now, he is a Marine, and he is asking what freedom am I fighting for if my folks can’t protect their own private property. This to me is a very constitutional issue.”

 Wake up people. Wolf hunters, you are good patriots.
