Far West Conference

Far West Conference

Far West Conference. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

This years Far West Agribusiness Washington Winter Conference and Annual meeting is on the calendar for December 12-14 at the Red Lion Hotel in Pasco. Jim Fitzgerald, Executive Director of Far West Agribusiness Association talks about the meeting.

FITZGERALD: Tuesday at 9:30 to 10:30 we’ve got Bill Herz who works for The Fertilizer Institute out of Washington DC and he’s just one of these guys that’s really astute into synthesized fertilizers and how they interact with the soil and whether they move with water or they don’t and Bill’s going to start of out Tuesday morning. The keynote will be Jay Vroom who is President and CEO for CropLife America so Jay is right at the forefront of the reregistration of pesticides products and drift and everything that EPA is concerned with.

Fitzgerald also talks about who can attend this important conference.

FITZGERALD: This year a little different than in years past, we’re publicizing it as open to the public. We’ve now got the capacity to do that. There’s going to be a price difference between members and non-members. I think it’s about $50 or so and the reason we want to do that is we want to help facilitate the best education and best information we can to the public.

More tomorrow.
