The pride of  Twin Falls as it relates to the cheese business. Glanbia Foods, the world’s largest producer of American-style cheddar cheese, won a record-breaking eleven awards for making some of the best cheese in the United States.  Glanbia earned three gold, five silver and three bronze medals at the recent 2011 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest held, ironically, in Wisconsin.  When I think of cheese in general, I think of Wisconsin.  And who can ignore when you are going through the aisles of your favorite grocery store with particular attention to the cheese case, the vast amount of  Vermont cheddar.  With all of this turmoil in my mind I just had to ask Tim Hesby who is Glanbia’s plant manager. “Most of the success is due to the incoming milk that we get, we have a lot of supply of great quality product coming in and then the plant itself, I have a lot of really great people out on the floor to take that high quality milk and produce a really good cheese product with it. You cannot make a great product if you start with sub par ingredients.”
