New online tool coming for potato suppliers

Farm and Ranch Report July 27, 2011 Come August 2nd, potato suppliers will find some new data tools available for them at the U.S. Potato Board website, uspotatoes.com

Potato Board consultant Don Ladhoff says one of the tools is called the PowerPoint Wizard.

Ladhoff: “It will pull in the retail sales data on share and trends on the category level. Also the type and size levels and give them these slides with notes or comments in the note section of the slides, that are basically a tutorial that will explain to them the information in the slide and how they can use it in a presentation with their retail customers.”

The second new online tool is FreshFacts Lite. Ladhoff says this will give potato suppliers the ability to create custom report sets where they can select specific geography and time periods. For example;

Ladhoff: “They would be able to see in addition to the dollar and volume sales and sales trends that they had available previously, they can now look at promoted versus non-promoted sales. Or in other words the amount of business they are doing in a market at feature pricing versus regular pricing.”

Ladhoff says there will be an industry training webinar to kick these tools off on August 2nd at nine a.m. Pacific time.
