7-25 FB Food and Climate

Is climate change real or just a little artifact that has occurred  here in Idaho over the last couple of years?

I think those of you who have been listening to this program over the years know that I am not a reactionary alarmist who voted and  sided with the likes of Al Gore. But when you hear the accounts from local farmers, some of whom weren’t able to get into their fields to plant this spring, you do have to wonder. What’s going on with our climate. Tornadoes in Massachusetts? Unprecedented tornadoes even in tornado alley? Well a group  called Oxfam America, made up of a scientific community of concerned agricultural advocates says that climate change is going to lead to extreme food shortages in the next 20 years. . Here is the Grow Campaign Press Officer Ben Grossman-Cohen: “Food prices doubling is going to happen because of a confluence of factors we identify. Climate change is a major factor in driving food price increases in the future. Up to half of the food prices increase could be attributed to climate change which is a stunning finding.”
