SURE Program deadline
Washington Ag Today July 12, 2011 USDA is reminding producers that they have until Friday, July 29th, to apply for assistance for 2009 crop losses under the Supplemental Assistance Payments, or SURE Program. The program provides crop disaster assistance payments to eligible producers on farms that have incurred crop production or quality losses. To be eligible, producers must have suffered at least a ten percent production loss on a crop of economic significance and obtained a policy or plan of insurance under the Federal Crop Insurance Act or the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program or NAP, for all economically significant crops. Now this from Stockland Livestock. This is Jack McQuiness here at Stockland Livestock in Davenport. 350 cattle on our market. Cows and bulls three to four, in some cases five higher than before the July 4th holiday. Good strong action. Best of the cows in the mid to high 70s again. Most of the cow trade high 60s to low 70s. Bulls topped at 97-dollars and we are going to call that four to five higher. Feeder cattle, we had a good run of yearlings. Some of these middle weight steers 700 to 800 pounds trading from a dollar 30 up to a $1.40 and the lighter calves from a dollar 40 to a dollar fifty. All in all a good, strong sale here. Don’t forget we have a special feeder sale next Monday. That is the 18th and we are selling small animals on July 26th. That is all here at Stockland in Davenport. Thanks for listening. Thanks Jack I’m Bob Hoff and that’s Washington Ag Today on Northwest Aginfo Net. ? ?
