6-7 FB Wheat Futures

I have had a number of the recent conversations with Blaine Jacobson who is the administrator of the Idaho wheat commission. In short wheat looks like a strong commodity. I will ask Blaine about betting on it next. I’m David Sparks. Let me begin by saying I know nothing about buying commodities but a lot of factors point to wheat prices possibly increasing. I asked Blaine a pointed question. Would you bet on wheat prices going up? “ You know when I have tried to give pricing forecasts in the past I am wrong as many times as I am right. I will say this though. The wheat prices that are out there are very attractive. It is hard to go wrong with prices that you can see currently. I think to a certain extent the market is reacting to supply and demand problems that we have seen last year, I think they are overlooking the high stock levels that we have and I think the market is riding along with some of the other commodities with a weak dollar, the price of gold and oil, the commodities have gone up and wheat has gone along with them. I really don’t know if our wheat prices are based on supply and demand fundamentals.”
