6-3 FB Fraser Vineyard

What makes entrepreneurs entrepreneurs? It’s amazing what you can do when you retire. Bill Fraser and his wife enjoy drinking wine. He had a little bit of time on his hands so:  “my wife and I began the winery and vineyard in 2003. We planted 5 acres out Southwest of Caldwell and it takes two years to get a crop so 2005 was our first harvest, then it’s another two years in the barrel so we didn’t start selling wine until 2007. We’ve had pretty good luck, we don’t make very much, only 1000 cases or less per year”. What gave you the idea to get started? “I was in construction for 30 to 35 years and was retiring from bad and we have always enjoyed wine, drinking ourselves, and collecting to some degree. I spent about a year searching for a spot and found a great one over in Canyon County, Southern exposure with a slope so the cold air drains off, and it was something we thought would be a fun hobby, something to keep me busy”. Is it going anywhere? “Did you hear that we were  named Idaho winery of the year  by Winepress Northwest?
