5-9 IAN Pesticide Disposal

 Southwestern and northern Idaho agricultural producers, dealers, applicators and homeowners who are storing unusable pesticides will have a safe, legal and free opportunity to dispose of them this May when the Idaho State Department of Agriculture conducts pesticide disposal collections in Nampa,  Weiser, Lewiston, and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Participation is free for the first 1,000 pounds of unusable pesticides per participant.  Here is state Department of Agriculture spokesperson Victor Mason. “The pesticide disposal program is a free program that is offered by the Idaho state Department of agriculture and it was created in 1993 to help the citizens of Idaho with a means of safely disposing of pesticides that they may have. Since the program started we have been able to safely collect and dispose of over 1,000,000 pounds of unusable pesticide to date. We can collect all kinds of pesticides including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, anything that has that cide on it. We cannot accept paints, motor oils, fertilizers and we also cannot accept large containers of  pressurized pesticides.
