Welcome to Vine to Wine, this is your host Linda Moran and on today's program, we are going to explore my new favorite wine.
As many of you know my "new favorite wine" is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. I have truly embraced the idea that life is too short to drink bad wine. Recently, I was tasting some wines from Australia, and I was introduced to a wine that is made by Rosemount Estate. It was a 2000 Show Reserve Shiraz. It is a wine that comprises a blending of wines that are deemed to be of some distinction. It is blended and aged in a manner that they believe will develop and enhance what those potentially good wines have to offer. In this case they are blending wines from two distinctive growing areas of South Australia. Wines from McLaren Vale known for its spicy richness is blended with wines from the Langhorne Creek known for depth and concentration of the varietal fruit flavors. The wine has a distinct fragrance, and although quite rich and smooth now, it is a wine that you could lay aside for a few more years. It is reasonably priced and was a fine wine with our dinner of rich dark mushroom soup followed by a tenderloin of beef with blue cheese bread pudding. Although I am not certain that it is readily available through normal retail channels you can find it with a quick google on the internet. But before you order it through the mail try asking your local wine merchant if they can order it for you. Send me your recommendations for and your new favorite wines to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
