Charley O’Brien, VP Agricultural Services at Association of Equipment Manufacturers which is the North American-based international trade group for the off-road equipment manufacturing industry. In a conversation that I had with him recently he explained an economic chain that looks positive for the future:” As you go up in horsepower of tractors 100 HP and above, combines and 4 wheel drive tractors, that’s getting more towards production agriculture, corn, soybeans and different crops like that, and it’s been positive for the last several years and part of that is because of what’s going on with the commodity prices which are very good for the most part and as a result of that, pretty good net farm income and as a result people are looking to buy some equipment and that’s a positive for the overall economy.”
