 A stinging allegation by a Utah official on the Western Watersheds  group. 

We have done story after story on the purity of the intentions behind the Western Watersheds  group. They oppose grazing on public lands because they contend that, among other things,  it is not ecologically friendly. Their mission statement says “The mission of Western Watersheds Project is to protect and restore western watersheds and wildlife through education, public policy initiatives and litigation.” In Utah, Cache County Executive Lynn Lemon says the primary motivation behind the Western Watersheds  group is the last word in the mission statement…litigation.  “Western Watershed’s doesn’t take any of this money to improve the environment. All they do is use it to sue people. If the Western Watersheds  group had a reputation for trying to preserve ag land, or trying to do conservation easement, I might look at it a little differently, but all I see that they ever do is just sue people to try to take away grazing.”
