12-15 FB Trust in Dairy

 Time to put consumer trust in dairy.

 In a time when public trust in dairy can no longer be taken for granted, the dairy industry needs to be unified in the fight to build that trust.  That’s according to Tom Gallagher, CEO of Dairy Management Inc, which manages the national dairy checkoff. 

  “The vision for the image and reputation of dairy farmers, as well as dairy products and the dairy industry in total is that we need to be more proactive in putting all of the things that we have going for dairy together out in front of the public.”

 Gallagher says because agriculture today employs fewer than two percent of the nation’s workforce, activist groups have had opportunities to mislead the public. 

 

 

Gallagher says the dairy checkoff will work with partners such as Mcdonald’s, Domino’s Pizza, and others  to intensify the effort to provide people with the facts about dairy farming.
