Preserving Public Access & Big Used Demand

Preserving Public Access & Big Used Demand. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Report. Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson, who is in line to chair the subcommittee overseeing spending by the U.S. Forest Service, is urging the agency to preserve access for recreation on public lands. Simpson signed a letter with 19 other members of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, according to a Friday news release from the 2nd District Republican. When Republicans assume control of the U.S. House in January, Simpson will likely become chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies, which writes the annual Forest Service spending bill. The rise in commodity prices this fall is driving up prices for good used farm equipment. Mark Stock with BigIron.com says it is definitely a seller's market right now. STOCK: The real good low houred quality is just bringing tremendous value right now for a seller. Buyers that are looking for quality equipment it's harder and harder to find unless you go buy brand new so we have seen that trend increase with these commodity prices. Demand for tractors and grain trailers is especially strong. Now here's today's Washington Grange Report. (GRANGE) That's today's Northwest Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
