 USDA Awards over $214,000 throughout the Pacific Northwest in

Partnership and Innovative Agreements to Develop Risk Management Education and Outreach Initiatives. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) Spokane Regional Office recently announced $214,390 in cooperative agreement awards that will help provide new ways for producers to manage agricultural risks, and for outreach and educational opportunities to women, limited-resource, and other traditionally underserved farmers and ranchers.

 Risk Management training for Idaho Beginning Producers, $9,999 to provide risk management training opportunities for Idaho beginning producers participating in the 2011 Idaho Future Farmer of America (FFA) State Convention with emphasis on livestock topics. Jo Lynne Seufer explains: The beginning farmer is going to be from FFA throughout all of Idaho. They’ll get educational materials about farming and risk management, it can be anything from financial to farm safety.”
