An apple juiice concentrate futures contract?

Washington Ag Today November 4, 2010 The Minneapolis Grain Exchange says it is developing an Apple Juice Concentrate futures contract. The exchange says the Juice Products Association’s Subcommittee on Futures brought the idea to it and juice industry participants have been helping the exchange to understand the intricacies of the industry.

The availability of accurate and reliable public pricing for Apple Juice Concentrate is a key component of a successful futures contract and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange says it is working with a third party who will collect and report on apple juice cash transactions.

Lt. Governor Brad Own left yesterday for Asia where he will visit both China and India on two separate missions over 20 days to seek new trade opportunities for Washington. Neither mission is at taxpayers expense. The lieutenant governor notes that trade between the U.S. and India is growing rapidly and that India was Washington state’s seventh top destination for exports in 2009 with a value of 1.8 billion dollars.
