The importance of social networking to the American food producer…it’s real, it’s now and it’s time. I’m David Sparks and I’ll explain when I get back. This is the weirdest thing and I am embarrassed to tell you the story but man enough to ‘fess up. I have an office in the Farm Bureau in Boise and spend a lot of time with a guy a lot of you producers know…Jake Putnam who actually works for the Farm Bureau. Jake’s a gadget nut and has I-Pods with apps, fancy cell phones and computers and is always cruising around the internet for information. The other day I asked him for Robert Blair’s phone number and Jake told me he was out bailing alfalfa. I didn’t know how Jake knew that but I got Robert’s number…called him and quickly found out. Robert told me that he told everybody what he was doing that day via Facebook and during our conversation had these words of advice for me: “You need to get on Facebook, big guy.”
