8-23 FB USDA Under Secretary Visits Idaho
Want some idea of how important agriculture is, not only to the State of Idaho but also on a national scale? I got a press release saying Deputy Under Secretary Darci Vetter, will visit the Caldwell Service Center which is at 2208 East Chicago in Caldwell. This all happens tomorrow, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This press release from Candace Moore who’s the Public Affairs/Outreach Specialist at the USDA Farm Service Agency said: Deputy Under Secretary Vetter is in Idaho and will take time to visit with local farmers, USDA Employees and others to discuss items of interest and to meet with producers who have benefited through USDA's various programs. It also said Ms. Vetter will also be giving remarks to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s TradeRoots program event in Boise on the 25th. and it will involve the Boise Chamber of Commerce. I called Candace and asked “What prompts this visit? “I don’t have any information, they just called and let us know she was going to be in town and asked if we could arrange a visit for her so we’ve invited some farmers who’ve participated in the loans at the end of last year when we were able to obtain funds from the ARA program.” So again it’s Tuesday and if you’re a producer, it may be very interesting to attend.
