As a family man, I’ve had great success with the Humane Society over the years. Both my kids have gone down and picked out puppies and cats and brought them home and raised them and they added to the family. I even had a dog quarantined at the Boise Humane Society. My daughter was walking Bear…a chow..one day, and a woman walked toward them aggressively. Bear took a nip out of her backside and ended up at the Humane Society where he was treated well.
OK so where’s this going. You may remember that I did a story where the Humane Society and PETA demanded to be present in slaughtering facilities to be sure animals weren’t abused. What? Here’s Jack Fisher, Executive Vice President of the Ohio Farm Bureau: “They are putting another ballot initiative to further amend the Ohio constitution and this specifically would be a directive to the livestock care standards board the humane society decided that they know better than those of us in the industry.”
Ok so we’re seeing a little bit of the Humane Society’s underbelly being exposed and that’s depressing in and of itself.
