PureSense Part 2

PureSense Part 2. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. Yesterday we began a conversation with John Williamson, Chief Operating Officer for PureSense, which provides a full-service solution for irrigation management that is reliable, accurate and easy-to-use. And in this technological world you can have that information in the palm of your hand. WILLIAMSON: PureSense has an iPhone application now which we're also going to bring out in the Blackberry and the new Google phone as well but right now it's available on the iPhone and that means that you can be standing in your field and looking at your crops at the same time seeing exactly what's going on beneath the ground as well and you can see climate information immediately. PureSense has integrated their monitoring station information with a website interface that does translate to the handheld devices allowing producers to get real-time information. WILLIAMSON: We tie in to the irrigation system so that we can track when it goes on and off and exactly how many inches of water you've applied in every irrigation set so it's saving them a huge amount of time and they still spend time in the field but on much more productive activities. Another plus to the PureSense system is the ability to track pollination. WILLIAMSON: We have a few different tools because obviously we're collecting a variety of climate information we can look at wind speed, we can look at temperature and we can calculate how many hours you've had ideal conditions for bee flight and therefore for pollination. Find PureSense on the web at www.puresense.com. That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
