Pear Marketing Strategies. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.
My wife and I are always on the lookout for new recipes and the fresher, the better. According to Cristie Mather, Communications Manager for Pear Bureau Northwest they are continuing a collaboration will not only taste great but be good for you.
MATHER: Every so often we engage in a partnership with Epic Roots that kind of spotlights both of our products together and they have on pack promotions where it usually includes a recipe and some nutrition information and also a coupon for Epic Roots products. And so through them
Epic Roots is a leafy green producing company's whose main product is called mâche also known as lamb's lettuce or corn salad and is quite tasty especially when teamed up with pears.
MATHER: This season is the first time that we have developed a recipe and this year the theme was spring recipes and we developed a recipe that is a brunch recipe which is sort of the quintessential spring meal.
As part of that promotion Mather says both Pear Bureau and Epic Roots are utilizing their social media platforms as well.
MATHER: So we are both going to be trading sort of fun facts about each others products on our social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter and then we have a blog as well that we'll be using to kind of promote this partnership in the spring.
Tomorrow we will chat with Cristie Mather about the importance of using social media as a marketing tool.
