Farmers Picked for FSA Board

Farmers Picked for FSA Board

Craziest thing happened when I got to the office this morning. I found out a government agency is actually being run by peoplewho know something about what they’re working on. Imaginethat. Obama Administration Names Appointees to USDA’sFarm Service Agency State Committee in Idaho.?The Obama Administration recently announced the individuals who will serve on the Idaho Farm Service Agency State Committee. The State Committee members will oversee the activities of the agency, including carrying out the state agricultural conservation programs, resolving appeals from the agriculture community and helping to keep producers informed about FSA programs. ?

Here’s what  Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said:  “These individuals will work with USDA to help farmers and ranchers build and maintain successful operations that produce the safe, nutritious food supply that America needs while spurring economic development in our nation’s rural communities,”. “They bring the experience and passion necessary to help continue the Obama Administration's efforts to rebuild and revitalize rural America.” ??

Here’s the amazing part as announced by Dick Rush, Executive Director of USDA’s Farm Service Agency in Idaho: “They selected groups of farmers  in rural arteas.”

That’s right, the 3 new board members are all farmers.
