Upcoming crop insurance deadlines

Washington Ag Today December 18, 2009 Once we get through the holidays it will be time for farmers to remember some crop insurance sales closing dates. Jo Lynne Seufer with the regional Office of the Risk Management Agency says the first deadline coming up is February 1st 2010.

Seufer: “And that is for our Adjusted Gross Revenue Pilot Program. Existing holders though, for the Adjusted Gross Revenue-Lite also have to apply and confirm their carryover policies by that date. And that is for all producers in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. February One is also our sales closing date for spring planted onions in Idaho, Oregon and Washington as well as cabbage in Oregon and Washington.”

March 15th is the final date to obtain 2010 Adjusted Gross Revenue-Lite insurance for new application/enrollment policies in the northwest.

Boise, Idaho based Agri Beef Co., with operations in both Idaho and Washington, has donated 60-thousand pounds of beef and pork to two non-profit food banks; Second Harvest Inland Northwest in Spokane, and the Idaho Foodbank in Boise. Agri-Beef also made a cash donation of 50-thousand dollars to each of the food banks.

Rick Stott, Executive Vice President of Business Development for Agri Beef says the company is family owned and they care about the health and nutrition of their neighboring families in the Northwest.
