Non-Profit Lawyers 1

 It would probably do you good to get your heart pumping…but I’ve got a story next that you may need to take your blood pressure medication for. Imagine how the public views environmental lawyers…you know, the saviors who challenge CAFO operations about methane and lagoons, prohibits cattle ranchers from running their cows to close to pristine waterways, raise the roof over hunting wolves and the list goes on. A lot of the public collectively breathes sighs of relief “knowing” that the save the planet warriors are out there fighting for the right cause.

 Get one thing straight. I am an adamant steward of the planet. I believe in preserving our environment…but I don’t believe in false profits…money changers in the temple.

 I found Karen Budd-Falen in Cheyenne Wyoming. She’s a former Department of the Interior Law Clerk, presently a partner in a law firm…and a cattle rancher. Here’s what she found after looking into a lot of these “non-profit” environmental lawsuits: In just six years non- profit environmental groups filed more than 15-hundred lawsuits and in turn the Federal Government paid out more than $4.7 billion in taxpayer dollars in settlements and legal fees in cases against the U.S. government.
