Washington Congressman Doc Hastings applauds Farm Bureau’s decision to oppose the Senates version of the energy bill and says it will cost the American public.

HASTINGS: I just think it’s bad policy to tax American people and the latest treasury estimate by the way of what cap and trade would cost everybody is $1700 a year so I just think it’s bad policy especially when you have a slow economy to put more taxes and regulations on businesses that create jobs. And one thing that we need to keep in mind is that energy jobs are high paying jobs and yet if either one of these bills were to become law I think it would slow the growth in the energy sector and thus hurt our economy,

With the holidays just around the corner, I know, sorry, a new nationwide study on air travel shows more flight delays could be on the horizon. The report titled "Expect Delays" released Thursday by the Brookings Institution finds long airline delays are twice as common as they were 20 years ago. The report, which does not come as a surprise to anybody, says even though air travel is down and airlines have cut flights, delays are up.
