President Obama says existing trade barriers must be cleared before he’ll submit to Congress the pending free trade deal with South Korea. But National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Chief Economist Gregg Doud says it’s time for Congress to vote.

DOUD: From NCBA’s perspective the beef issue even though we’ve got some unfinished business I don’t think that that should be an impediment to ratifying the free trade agreement certainly. There are issues on automobiles that both sides seem to be discussing but you know we have a deal in place.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game says the salmon fishing season has closed on the Clearwater River upstream of the Orofino Bridge. Next Wednesday, the season will also close on the South Fork Clearwater and Lochsa rivers. State fishery managers estimate that so far anglers have harvested about 95 percent of the state's harvest share of adult hatchery Chinook salmon in the area.

Now here’s today’s Washington Grange Report.
