Roughing It for Wine

Roughing It for Wine. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

I have always wanted to golf. Oh, I’ve tried many times but no matter how I try, I always wind up in the rough or a sand trap so finally I cried UNCLE! But for those of you that have a better time of it, here is a fun event you will want to sign up for.

BAKER: This year’s tournament is going to be at Canyon Lakes Golf Course on Thursday June 25th and that’s in Kennewick. We’re inviting all of the industry to come and join us.

That’s Andrea Baker, Communication-Event Coordinator for the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers and the Washington Wine Industry Foundation who talks about how the proceeds are used.

BAKER: This one is to benefit the Washington Wine Industry Foundation. Proceeds go into helping the Foundation run and provide scholarships for the industry.

Baker says you can get more information online.

BAKER: Registration for a team of 4 is $440 and that is before May 15th and after May 15th it raises to $500 so you definitely want to get your registration in early.

That’s today’s Fruit Grower Report. I’m Greg Martin on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
