12/12/08 A beef video

Washington Ag December 12, 2008 There was a premiere at this year's annual Washington Cattlemen's Association Convention. It was the debut for the beef industry of the "Beef: Pasture to Plate" video. Patti Brumbach is administrator for the Washington State Beef Commission which had the video produced to help Washington producers do a better job of telling the beef production story. Brumbach: "And it is a wonderful story that just basically goes from a couple of ranches in Washington and shows environmental stewardship and care about quality and animal handling and those kind of things, all the way through to the finished product." Brumbach says they will use every opportunity to show the video to the consumer population. Brumbach: "We want consumers to believe and understand that beef producers care about safe and wholesome beef production and that they are capable of producing safe and wholesome beef." One of the first things the Beef Commission will do is run internet banner advertising to drive consumers to the Commission's website where they can see the video. It will also be played throughout the year at events the Beef Commission participates in like the Bloomsday trade show and the Taste of Washington Wines. I'm Bob Hoff.
